Early Career as a Domestic Cricketer

In January 2019, he was listed in the Test squad of the West Indies team for their series against England. On 23 January 2019, he made his Test debut for the West Indies against England. Then in February 2019, he was added to the One Day International (ODI) of the West Indies squad and this was also for the series against England. So on 20 February 2019, he made his ODI debut for the West Indies. He was also named in the Twenty20 International (T20I) of the West Indies squad for their series against England the following month. So on 10 March 2019, he made his T20I debut for the West Indies against England.

In the opening match of the 2019 Ireland Tri-Nation series which was against Ireland, Campbell scored his first century in ODIs. Campbell and Shai Hope together went on to make 365 runs for the opening wicket. This was the highest opening partnership in ODIs and it was the first time when both openers had scored 150 runs each in an ODI match.
